The Walkable Solar System

I have long since owed you a blog but with The Dalek Project, a teething baby nom, and the usual every day stresses it can seem nearly impossible to regularly blog, tweet, Tumbl(r), Facebook, and keep things up to date on Etsy. And my recently joining Pintrest isn't helping anything.

My Ohioan husband is a huge Buckeyes fanatic and has regularly read Buckeye Planet for years and it was there that he got a great idea for an activity to do with our child. Mind you we did this a few months ago and yes, she's too young to really know what was going on but this is an activity you can do over and over again with your family.

A father created a walkable scale model of the solar system to illustrate how far the planets were from each other and approximately how large each planet would be.

By using the calculator you find here you can figure out how many paces you will need to walk to create your scale model.

For those of you who don't click my hypertext links (shame on you) I will once again link to the original post on Buckeye planet http://www.buckeyeplanet.com/forum/open-discussion-work-safe/625845-solar-system.html. There, now you have three hypertext links.
